5 Article Writing Tips For Massive Results

October 13, 2008 on 4:18 pm | In Affiliate Marketing, List Building, Must See, Traffic | 6 Comments

You have made an excellent decision to include article marketing into your traffic generation strategies. Article marketing is one of the best free ways to create exposure for your website and your products or services.

Here are the 5 Article Writing Tips;

1. Keyword Research - Like with anything else in life you need a plan. You need to plan your article to determine what keyword you will be targeting. Each article you write should target one particular keyword or keyphrase as its also known.

2. Be Selective In Choosing Your Topic – You obviously are hoping to drive traffic from your article so you need to do your research to make sure that the topic of your article will be one that people will be interested in reading. You could browse through some article sites to see what the hot topics are. Consider the most frequently asked questions by your target market and try to write articles that answer these questions. You will come across as an expert in your niche and this will drive buyers to your product offerings.

3. Learn Effective Copywriting Skills – There are simple techniques when it comes to copywriting that you should know and incorporate into your articles. One of the biggies is to write your article as though you were face to face with the person. Another is to make sure you write an attractive title (aka headline) for your article that entices someone browsing articles to open yours over others on the same topic. Wherever possible include benefits in your title or use curiosity.

4. Write solid material – Your reputation is at stake with each article you publish. You want to produce quality articles so that you become known for good content and people will tend to search for your other material as well. Make sure that with each article you add value to your reader’s life whether it be a list of tips or answers to frequently asked questions or a how-to guide to doing something they would be interested in.

5. Do Not Write An Epistle - People are very busy these days and have short attention spans. Having said that you should try not to make your articles too long as you will tend to lose your readers before they finish the article and get to your bio box. Ideally you should keep your articles to between 300-450 words and write in simple terms that anyone could understand.

Article marketing works for you long after you have written and published your article so basically you do the work once and reap the rewards forever. Keep writing !

To Your success,
Chris

P.S. If you simply cannot be bothered with writing your own articles you could hire ghost writers to do this for you or use PLR articles. Another great resource is Article Underground where you can get hundreds of top quality articles written for you every month.

6 Reasons Blogging Is A Good Strategy For Affiliate Marketers

October 10, 2008 on 6:10 pm | In Affiliate Marketing, List Building, Must See, Traffic | No Comments

Blogging is something that anyone can do. It is extremely popular now and there is no end in sight for its popularity. There are thousands of new blogs created every day. Now, initially when I first thought of blogging I felt is was not for me since I imagined it to be a difficult thing to do. Not so I have since found out.

There are many reasons why you should blog, here are 6 of the main ones in my opinion;

1. Blogging is fast to get setup with. There are free hosts where you could get a completely free blog but it would be my recommendation that you at least get your own domain name and hosting to set up your blog. Then I would suggest you use the easiest blogging software which is WordPress to build your blog. Blogging is fun and it is relatively easy. These days with the elections upcoming there are many people political blogging
and people enjoy it because it is like discussing current events with others online. The key to good blogging is unique and interesting content. You want to engage your readers so they keep coming back and interacting with you.

2. You can make money blogging. You can put a number of different types of ads on your blog, which, when clicked through and a purchase is made you get a commission. One of these would be Google Adsense ads but there are many others you can do a search for and see if they fit with your blog’s topic. You can also use your blog as a traffic director by having your affiliate links on it and directing your visitors to check those links
out. Also, if you have your own products you can direct your visitors to those if you have them at a separate website or point them out at your blog.

3. You can build your list via your blog. If you are looking to build a list of subscribers to your blog, which you definitely should do if you are trying to make money blogging, then you can very easily do this by having an opt-in form at your blog.

4. Blogging helps you to create your brand. Basically you are being yourself, or should be, at your blog and your readers begin to know you by this.

5. Blogging allows communication between you and your readers via the comments that they can leave about your posts. The world is all a buzz about interaction online and a blog is a perfect format to accommodate this.

6. Blogging can help you keep up with a lot of the Social Networking communities as well as there are plugins that allow you to automatically update Twitter for one example. Social networking is growing rapidly these days as the new way to do online marketing. It is a different type of marketing than in the past but you definitely want to partake in some of these communities and you can also invite your friends at these places
to visit your blog and leave you a comment.

The internet is all about interaction and blogging is a fun, fast and easy way to develop your own readership and interact with them.

Here is a guide to blogging that I purchased when I was just getting started. It is called Blogging To The Bank and it is full of very useful information for bloggers or wannabe bloggers.

To Your Success,
Chris

Social Networking For Traffic And Friends

June 11, 2008 on 12:42 pm | In Affiliate Marketing, List Building, Must See, Random Thoughts, Traffic | 1 Comment

Social Networking, as of now, is still relatively new, at least as far as being a tool for generating website traffic. That is soon going to change…in a big way.

Everyone is beginning to learn, if they do not already know, that networking and socializing on the internet are becoming more and more crucial to online success. Since the internet is so impersonal (no face to face interaction) just by virtue of what it is, it has become critical that website / business owners “virtually socialize” via the various means available today, and more and more are becoming available. I think I hear of one or two new social networks coming online almost every other day now.

I am sure you have also noticed the wave of videos on the internet now and I do not mean just the funny videos you see on YouTube or elsewhere but the many that website owners put out. Again that adds to the recognizability of the person and makes the interaction with them more personable. You get a feeling of knowing them and that is what it is all about.

Social networking is now more a means for people to interact on a much more personal level than was possible before. Social communities abound now and offer the opportunity to develop relationships with customers, future customers, peers and much more. They can be quite addictive also as they are a lot of fun to be a part of. Be careful of the time factor as you could waste a lot of time in these communities also and let go of what you’re supposed to be focusing on.

How great is it that you can now interact with people and, in doing so generate traffic for your website. As with all ways to generate traffic you must be prepared to offer useful content that people are looking for or needing to improve some area of their lives. My coach and mentor always says that Content = Traffic, however it is key to have relevant content which will drive targeted traffic to your website. This is what will help to make your business a success.

With these social networking sites it is important to just be “you”, not somebody else. This is a basic yet important element for the success of using these forums to develop relationships. People like to do business with people so do not hide behind your business’s name or pretend to be someone that you are not. While the internet is and seems huge, mistakes like this will usually be discovered and could ruin all of your efforts.

Using social sites is beneficial for a number of reasons. It allows you to get your name out there and become recognizable. It is highly recommended that you put an actual picture of yourself, where possible, as this simply makes you more relatable rather than some generic picture / avatar that the site provides. It obviously also makes you more recognizable.

Whether you have your own products or promote someone else’s products as an affiliate, it is acceptable and good to include your promotions in your networking efforts.

You are hoping to gain the trust of and build relationships with people. It is very important that you participate actively in these communities so that you become known and build your credibility as an expert in your field. It is basically the same thing that is done by blogging.

Personally, until I found out about the social communities I thought that Blogging was the only way online to interact with others, except for forums. As a blogger you can learn from your blog visitor’s comments about their concerns and questions and needs. Some marketers have actually got ideas for products from this. People helping people, a great phenomenon don’t you think?

Other suggested ways of social networking are posting in different forums and making comments on blogs yourself.

Wishing you success and fun as you explore the social networking communities out there on the internet. Perhaps our paths will also cross at one of these communities.

Interview With Michael Cheney, Traffic Expert

June 10, 2008 on 11:30 am | In Traffic | No Comments

Michael Cheney Talks Traffic – Interview With A Traffic Expert

Michael Cheney, one of the most-respected names in Internet marketing, has been online since 1995 and is the man behind the 6-Figure launches of AdSense Videos and 11 Days To List Profits. He has unveiled a new video product – “Michael’s Traffic Videos” which covers everything to do with traffic and comes with 100,000 instant ad credits and a tailored Fast-Track To Traffic Action Plan.

We managed to grab some time with him recently and quiz him on his favorite topic – traffic.

You’ll get a lot out of this interview including a killer 40-page E-book on traffic that Michael has written to help you avoid the Top 20 Traffic Disasters!

So let’s get started.

Q. Firstly Michael, thank you for joining us today in your busy schedule.

A. Hey no problem. Good to be here.

Q. We all know that traffic is important but could you just explain a bit about traffic for the beginners out there?

A. Sure. Traffic is the lifeblood of any business online. Without it you just die. We all know that. But what a lot of us don’t realize is that just like everything else on the Internet traffic changes very quickly. That is, the methods of getting traffic are changing all the time and that’s where people get caught out.

Q. What do you mean by “caught out”?

A. Well people fall into the trap of thinking that just because they know one or two traffic generation methods that they are some sort of traffic master. In reality just because you know how to start a pay per click campaign or a little bit about search engines doesn’t make you anywhere near a traffic expert. I’m trying to spread the word that there is a massive array of traffic tactics that most people aren’t even aware of, let alone using or mastering.

Q. Can you give us some examples?

A. Sure. Offline for example. You might immediately think that getting traffic is a purely online activity but the truth of the matter is that there are lots of things you can be doing offline to get people into your website. And it’s usually these sorts of areas that are being under-utilized and therefore there is less competition for that traffic as well.

Q. So by offline you mean advertising offline?

A. Not necessarily. That is one method, yes, but I’m thinking of more creative ways to get people into your website. It all comes down to the fact that having asked people on my list it came as no surprise that most people want to know about free rather than paid traffic sources. I’ve had to become an expert in free ways of getting traffic in my time online.

Q. What do you mean – I thought you were running a successful online business with lots of cash flow?

A. I am. But it’s not always been this way. When I first started out in 1995 I had nothing. No money to play with. Just my own initiative and imagination.

Q. So are you saying you’re against paying for traffic online?

A. No. No I’m not saying that at all. What I’m saying is that, especially when you first start out, you always want to focus on the free methods. You get the traffic in for free, make some sales and then you can reinvest some of that money into paid methods of getting traffic. This speeds up the process.

Q. So what particular offline methods are you referring to – can you give us some examples?

A. There’s one tactic I used that costs nothing to implement, is relatively quick and ended up getting me thousands and thousands of targeted visitors into my websites. When I’ve shared this tactic with other marketers at seminars they’ve started laughing and slapping their foreheads when they saw how easy it was. They were also embarrassed that they had failed to use this tactic. It was quite amusing.

Q. So are you going to tell us what this method is?

A. No! (laughs) It’s in my course! I truly believe in rewarding those people that are most eager to learn so instead of giving away all my traffic tactics in interviews like this I’ve put some of them in an E-Book I’ve written. It is free though if people want to get it.

Q. So how can people get hold of it?

A. It’s called “How To Avoid The Top 20 Traffic Disasters” and you can get it by going to Michael’s Traffic Videos – you’ll see it mentioned on that page.

Q. What’s in it?

A. Well I really wanted to raise the bar on a free E-Book so I spent a lot of time creating it. It’s 40 pages long and stuffed with juicy content on what NOT to do when it comes to traffic. As far as I’m concerned too many people out there tell you what you should do but not what you shouldn’t do. That’s where this E-Book comes in.

Q. Okay. I think we’re about done is there anything else you want to tell everyone?

A. Just that if they are serious about getting more traffic into their website they need to goto Michael’s Traffic Videos and get that free E-Book.

Q. Cool. Well thanks for your time Michael and speak to you soon.

A. My pleasure. Speak soon.
